#BestCarcass on Twitter
#BestCarcass is now a hot hashtag on Twitter. Users upload their photos of animal carcasses which moved or impressed them the most. Among them you will find "light" pics like a guy laying next to a big squid on the beach, a beatiful picture of the Red-backed shrike (a bird species) with a dead mouse impaled on a thorn (which is characteristic for shrikes), or predators with their freshly hunted preys, but you will also find a "hard core" pics of corpsess with organs outside the body.
Here, I propose my own photo of freshly roadkilled hedgehog. When spring comes, it will be a common view on the Polish roads, especially in cities. Hedgehogs after hibernation will go out to find some food, while we will be driving without thinking about them or looking on the road if there is anybody who is going to cross our route. The trouble with the habitat fragmentation is a huge consequence of building so dense net of roads, usually without securing the safety of migrating animals. When the hedgehogs will be dieing on roads, so will lots of amphibians which according to their instincts will be looking for water ponds to mate.
Think about it even today. Conclude. Make a move.
Pics may be brutal for some:
Bonus pics:
1) A wild boar killed by train. Unfortunately there is almost no possibility anybody would survive collision with a train...
2) A western roe deer probably hit by a car. This male could only walk 20 m from the road to die in bushes.
3) Finally a couple of frogs which weren't enough lucky to get to the pond to lay eggs.
